An in-depth analysis of NLP techniques for extracting information from clinical narratives, with a focus on privacy-preserving methods.

## Abstract

Clinical narratives contain rich information that can improve patient care and research. However, processing these texts presents unique challenges including domain-specific terminology, temporal reasoning, and privacy concerns. This paper surveys current approaches and proposes a framework for privacy-preserving clinical NLP that maintains utility while protecting patient information.
